Junior Footwear Product Developer

Role summary

We are seeking a passionate Junior Product Developer. The role involves assisting the product creation process, from concept to finished product, while collaborating closely with design, sourcing, and production teams.

The ideal candidate has a keen eye for detail, knowledge of the current footwear market, footwear construction, and a drive to innovate in active lifestyle footwear. This role is part time 3 days per week.

Role Key Responsibilities:

• Manage sample requests and orders, ensuring alignment with critical path timing
• Track and document sample progress and status including comments for confirmation samples
• Assist in production timelines being met by ensuring timely confirmation of samples/materials and componentry.
• Update sample production timelines and escalate delays when necessary and assist in resolving any issues that could impact Production
• Collaborate with the QC team and the Production Manager to ensure quality control
• Provide feedback and adjustment comments on sample prototypes, whilst assisting in fit and wear testing and document results
• Assist in creating and updating tech packs.
• Help manage and organize material swatches and trims.
• Maintain accurate records of sample revisions and updates.
• Coordinate communication between the design and production teams.
• Review and revise product specifications with the Head Designer.
• Maintain Product Library both physical and digital.
• Provide Design support around Trend, mood boards and patterns.

The skills and experience you offer us:

- 2+ years of experience in product development, preferably within the footwear category.
- Experience working in a wholesale, retail or DTC sales environment or garment manufacturing experience
- Strong understanding of footwear design, materials, construction, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office.
- Excellent eye for detail, organisation and time management, negotiation communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of sustainable materials and eco-friendly production practices is a plus.
